Download Codex first, understand what a skill is, then begin with Onboarding before moving into lead, sales, website, and operating prompts.
Step 1 - Download Codex
Do these in order: download Codex, understand what a skill is, then start with Onboarding.
Download Codex
Choose the button that matches your computer.
Not sure which Mac you have? Click the Apple menu in the top-left corner, choose About This Mac, and look for Chip or Processor. If it says Apple M1, M2, M3, or M4, choose Apple Silicon. If it says Intel, choose Intel.
- Download the right version above.
- Open the downloaded file and install Codex.
- Open Codex and sign in with your ChatGPT account.
- Select your project folder and choose Local.
Step 2
Understand what a skill is and why it matters for agents like Codex.
A skill is a reusable markdown instruction that tells Codex what to do, what files or tools to check, what output to produce, and where to stop for approval.
Skill vs. prompt: a prompt is usually one request. A skill is a repeatable operating procedure Codex can run again and again.
Skill vs. Custom GPT: a Custom GPT lives inside ChatGPT. A Codex skill is portable markdown you can inspect, copy, edit, and use while Codex works with real files on your computer.
Click View markdown to read the full skill, then copy it into Codex when you are ready.

Start in Onboarding.
Confirm Codex is installed, sandbox/browser settings are usable, and the first context skills are ready before moving into sales or operations.

Open a readable skill as markdown.
Click View markdown to inspect the full skill, or Copy full skill when you are ready to run it.

Unlock the rest when you are ready.
The readable previews show how the system works. Locked cards stay blurred until purchase.
